You've Been Managing This
Alone for Years.
PCOS is often diagnosed in your twenties and then handed back to you with a pill and no plan. Most women carry it quietly through their thirties and forties, never told it can shift and intensify through perimenopause, never given a reason the symptoms come and go. I understand this firsthand. I'm a physician, and I still had to advocate for my own diagnosis. If you've done everything right and still don't feel right, the problem isn't you. It's that PCOS was never treated as the whole-body condition it actually is.
You may have heard PCOS is also being called PMOS. Here's what that means for you →
Six Places PCOS
Shows Up.
Cycles & Bleeding
Irregular, absent, or unpredictable periods that no one has fully explained or resolved. This is often the symptom that gets normalized for years before anyone connects it to a hormonal pattern.
Weight & Metabolism
Insulin resistance that makes weight harder to manage and harder to explain to doctors who aren't looking for it. Same habits, same effort, different result.
Skin & Hair
Acne, excess hair growth, or hair thinning tied to androgen levels, not a dermatology problem alone. These respond to treatment that addresses the hormonal cause.
Energy & Mood
Fatigue, anxiety, and mood instability that follow the hormonal pattern, not a mental health problem in isolation. Often dismissed as stress when the cause runs deeper.
Long-Term Metabolic Risk
Elevated risk of insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease are best managed now, not later. Early attention changes the long-term picture.
Fertility & Ovulation
Unpredictable cycles make it hard to know when, or if, ovulation is happening. If you're trying to conceive and the timing never seems to work, this is often the reason, not bad luck.
Why Birth Control Alone
Isn't a PCOS Plan.
A standard visit often treats the most visible symptom, usually the cycle, and stops there. I evaluate reproductive health and metabolic function together, because PCOS doesn't stop at your cycles. It affects weight, insulin response, skin, energy, and emotional wellbeing, often all at once.
What the first visit looks like: Your first visit, the Reveal consultation, runs sixty to ninety minutes and starts with a 60+ biomarker serum lab panel that gives us insight into your androgen levels, insulin response, and metabolic health together, not just a cycle history. When we meet in person, I also run a body composition scan. From there, treatment is built around your goals, whether that's regulating cycles, addressing skin and hair symptoms, supporting fertility, or reducing long-term metabolic risk.
I see women with PCOS from Eden Prairie, Minneapolis, St. Paul, Edina, and across the Twin Cities, in person at the clinic and by telehealth throughout Minnesota. However long you've been managing this on your own, the path here starts the same way.
